§ 4-3-20. Notice of city's intention to remove weeds.
Latest version.
Prior to cutting down or removing weeds from private premises, the code enforcement
office of the department of sanitation services shall give written notice to the person
owning, occupying or controlling the premises that if such weeds are not cut down
or removed within ten (10) days from the date of the notice's mailing, and if during
such time the property owner does not contest the notice of violation to the City
of Pensacola, then the director of sanitation services will cause them to be cut down
or removed and the premises will be assessed for the cost thereof. Notice shall be
deemed to be sufficient if it is mailed to the occupant of the premises, if any, and
the last owner of record on file in the office of the property appraiser. In the event
that the mailed notice is undeliverable or returned then the city shall prominently
post the notice upon the premises.
